@Patty: this is a national Mongolian and Buriat instrument. I don't remember the name:( but it had something to do with a horse.
they have a legend. there was a man, and all he had left from his parents was a horse, which he loved very much. and when it eventually died he was very sad and decided to make an instrument out of its tail. and miraculously it sounded exactly the same and that horse's neigh.
but it sounds great anyway:)
